New categories announced for the Electronics Excellence Awards

Launched at electronica in 2022, this award is the most rigorous and transparent award in the industry. Exhibitors at electronica 2024 will be approached to submit their most innovative and show-stopping products.

All submissions will be included in a series of exclusive newsletters in the weeks leading up to electronica and will be included in our printed issue distributed at the show.

The winner will receive an extensive marketing package worth over £8,000!

New for electronica, all entries will be shortlisted into one of four categories:

1. Test & Measurement Product

The Test & Measurement category seeks to recognise innovative tools and instruments that enable accurate analysis, diagnostics, and monitoring of electronic systems and components. Products in this category include, but are not limited to:

• Oscilloscopes
• Multimeters
• Spectrum analysers
• Logic analysers
• Signal generators
• Network analysers
• Power analysers
• Environmental and stress testing equipment

2. Power Product

The Power category focuses on products designed to manage, convert, and control electrical power. This includes solutions that improve energy efficiency, reliability, and performance in electronic systems. Products in this category encompass:

• Power supplies
• Converters (DC/DC, AC/DC, etc.)
• Inverters
• Batteries and energy storage solutions
• Power management ICs
• Voltage regulators
• Power distribution units
• Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)

3. Passive Product

The Passive category aims to highlight advancements in passive electronic components that are essential for the functioning of various circuits. This includes components that do not require power to operate, such as:

• Resistors
• Capacitors
• Inductors
• Transformers
• Filters
• Ferrites
• Crystals and oscillators
• Connectors

4. Electromechanical Product

The Electromechanical category celebrates innovations in devices that combine electrical and mechanical processes to perform a function. These products bridge the gap between electrical circuits and mechanical systems. Entries in this category include:

• Relays
• Switches
• Motors and actuators
• Solenoids
• Sensors and transducers
• Interconnection systems
• Electromechanical assemblies and subassemblies

Each of these categories plays a crucial role in the electronics industry, and the Electronics Excellence Awards aims to recognise the most outstanding contributions in each area.

The judging panel, selected by our Editors at Electronic Specifier, will feature specially curated industry thought-leaders and electronics specialists.

All entries will be independently scored after being discussed in-depth by our panel. The highest scoring entry will be our winner.

All entrants will be invited to a short presentation at electronica where our winner will be announced. This will take place on 14th November at 12.50pm on the Visionary Stage in Hall B4.

Entries must be submitted by 11th October 2024.
