The Electronics Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements within the electronics industry, highlighting innovations and advancements that have significantly contributed to the sector.

With the submissions now open, this article provides essential guidelines for potential entrants. Whether you are a seasoned participant or a first-time nominee, understanding the entry requirements is crucial to ensure your submission aligns with the award’s criteria and stands out among the competition.

Here, we outline the key steps and considerations for entering the Electronics Excellence Awards, ensuring that your innovative work receives the recognition it deserves.

General entry rules and information

The Electronics Excellence Awards are open to all electronics companies.

All entries should be made using the online submission form. Please follow the instructions closely, paying particular attention to the information being asked of you. Only by keeping to the format and criteria requested can you ensure that the judges will have everything they need to evaluate your entry and compare it accurately with other entries in the category.

Eligibility

Unless otherwise stated, the eligibility period for submissions should relate to work done the period from December 2022 to November 2024.

Companies or individuals may submit entries on their own behalf, or on behalf of other individuals or organisations, including colleagues, industry peers, suppliers or clients. If submitting on someone else’s behalf, please ensure you have their permission to do so.

Entries

Entries open 4 July 2024.

Entries will close at midnight GMT on 11 October 2024.

Your written entry is the basis on which you will be judged and shortlisted and should be completed to the best of your ability. Make sure you include all of the information we ask for and demonstrate thoroughly how you meet the criteria for the award you are entering. Please also ensure the information is formatted correctly, or it may not be put forward.

Please note that you will be unable to complete your entry if you have not filled out the mandatory fields indicated by an asterisk *.

You will initially be asked for contact details and which category you are interested in entering from the following:

  • Test & Measurement Product
  • Power Product
  • Passive Product
  • Electromechanical Product

Each of these categories plays a crucial role in the electronics industry, and the Electronics Excellence Awards aims to recognise the most outstanding contributions in each area.

Tell us in detail about your product on show at electronica?* (400-word limit)

Provide a thorough description of the product you intend to show at electronica, including any particular specifications, notes or details that make it excellent. Provide some context to the creation of this product and its journey to be on display at electronica.

What makes your product stand out from the competition?* (400-word limit)

Outline here the elements that make the product innovative and how you might intend to demonstrate this to the customers or at electronica.

How is it going to change the game for people who are using it?* (400-word limit)

Go into as much detail as possible about the end-applications possible for this product or how it might support the electronics industry.

We advise you stick to the 400-word limit as much as possible. Submissions will be marked down if they are too short or too long.

Datasheets or additional information

Any further file uploads that will support your entry, this can include datasheets, application notes or videos. File limit of five.

Any additional information will help the judges understand your product more thoroughly and make an accurate assessment.

Judging process

Our judges comprise of an independent panel of senior representatives from end-user organisations, consultants, and key industry players who are carefully selected by the editors of Electronic Specifier.

The Judges gather together for an exclusive judging day to discuss the products entered, score the entry, and ultimately decide on our winners. All scores are collated and verified to avoid anomalies and are then averaged to determine the winners.

Where applicable, judges sign Non-Disclosure Agreements and must declare any association or involvement with any of the entries.
