EEA shortlist: Traco Power

Exhibitors at electronica have been approached to submit their most innovative and show-stopping products.

TRACO Electronic AG’s TCI series, which includes the TCI 130, TCI 240, and TCI 500(U), is a high-performance range of conduction-cooled AC/DC encased power supplies designed to deliver between 130 and 500 watts of output power, featuring a 4250 VAC reinforced isolation system.

The product line stands out for its focus on maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of conduction cooling. These units are ideal for industrial/automation, and test & measurement applications, where reliable power performance, thermal management, and space-saving designs are crucial.

The TCI series, with its conduction cooled design approach, offers superior temperature management when mounted on a metal chassis or baseplate, these power supplies can deliver up to 100% of the maximum output power without the need for a fan.

With excellent efficiency of up to 94%, the TCI series can operate from –30 to +50°C without derating, and up to +80°C with either load derating or forced cooling. These units meet OVC III requirements and can operate at altitudes up to 5000 m. The series features active power factor correction (PFC) and EMC characteristics specifically designed for industrial/automation and test & measurement applications. The TCI series also includes an internal EN 55032 Class B filter for EMC compatibility and is prepared for Protection Class II.

The TCI series' ability to function without fans or other active cooling mechanisms makes it ideal for use in enclosed spaces or locations where fan maintenance is impractical. The reinforced isolation system and wide operating temperature range further increases its appeal for industries where safety and performance cannot be compromised.
