Howden appoints Harold Lang as its China president
Howden Group, a provider of mission critical air and gas handling products, technologies and services, has strengthened its team in China by appointing Harold Lang as group vice president and China president.
From the 1st of November 2021, Harold Lang replaces Soren Jensen, who retired from the company at the end of September 2021. In this role, Harold will be responsible for the leadership of Howden across China and continuing profitable growth within its key areas including: waste water, mining, hydrogen production, steel production, petrochemical, oil & gas, general industrial and power generation industries.
Harold brings with him extensive experience in manufacturing, commercial and senior leadership from across a range of industries. Most recently he was president, and board member, of Far East Holdings Group. Prior to his role with Far East Holdings, Harold was chairman and CEO of Weichai International in the Weichai Group and he has held various leadership roles in Terex Corporation, York International and United Technologies Corporation.

Originally from Chongqing, China, Harold received a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Central China University of Technology and Science, as well as a Master’s of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon, an MBA from Purdue University, and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Howden recently announced a contract to supply a hydrogen compression solution for use in the world’s largest hydrogen refuelling station (HRS) for Hypower in Beijing.
