Anglia Components wins Sunday Times top employer award
Anglia Components is named as a top employer in the inaugural Sunday Times Best Places to Work Awards 2023.
The component distributor employs nearly 150 people in its sales, technical support, operations and warehouse teams, of whom over 100 are based in Wisbech.
Anglia CEO Steve Rawlins commented, “We’re delighted to receive this award from the Sunday Times. Our staff are at the heart of Anglia’s success, and we’ve long believed in recognising this. We already offer a paid-for Christmas party, employee barbecues, champagne for special birthdays, flowers for births and a house move day. This year, in recognition of Anglia’s 50-year anniversary, we increased holidays to 27 days and gave our employees every Friday afternoon off. Even though these measures reduce total working hours, all staff remain on the same pay. We have always been a caring employer and this award recognises the significant commitment that Anglia makes to its staff wellbeing."
Launched for 2023 in partnership with WorkL, the Sunday Times Best Places to Work Awards celebrates organisations with the highest employee engagement and wellbeing levels. Winners are selected from the results of an employee engagement survey that asks questions across a range of categories including Empowerment, Wellbeing, Information Sharing and Instilling Pride.
Anglia was recognised in the Medium Organisation category with 100-249 employees, achieving the 70% overall engagement score based on responses from over 50% of employees. They responded to statements such as "I am happy with the hours that I work," "I am recognised when I do something well," and "I am proud to work for my organisation."
