Z-Wave Alliance to showcase environmentally friendly home control solutions at Light+Building 2012

More than 600 products currently use Z-Wave wireless technology. These provide a convenient and energy-efficient network and enable the control of other compatible devices in the home network. As an open consortium of manufacturers, the Alliance guarantees the compatibility of all such devices in networked homes and offices. The user is not bound to a specific manufacturer, and can combine Z-Wave products as desired.

Reduce energy consumption with Aeon Labs
Aeon Labs is a developer of wireless solutions for intelligent home automation. In Frankfurt, the company will demonstrate the 220 V Smart Energy Switch, which connects major power guzzlers such as the dishwasher, tumble dryer and electric oven with the home network. The switch measures power consumption and, as such, helps residents to take specific energy saving measures. The attached devices can be controlled centrally via a wall mounted touch-panel. In addition, using mobile panels it is possible to operate the wall mounted switches (micros) from Aeon Labs. Other products that will be presented at Light+Building include: the key fob controller, a key ring with an integrated scene controller, and an external sensor module for converting device sensors. The portfolio on display is rounded off with the Smart Energy Switch G2 and the Smart Energy Illuminator G2, in their respective capacities of device switch and dimmer with energy-measurement capabilities.

Creating fully networked buildings efficiently with QEES
The Danish company QEES provides energy efficient smart home solutions, such as switches, dimmers, remote controls etc.. In Frankfurt, QEES will be presenting new products such as the remote control MyKey. This enables personalised control in smart-home networks and it fits on any key ring. With four buttons available on the user interface, different home automation scenarios can be created. Additionally, the Reto Shell switch offers control of lights and other lighting installations. The Reto Shell Dimmer can make all energy-saving, halogen and LED lights dimmable. Both devices can be installed retrospectively and are also available as plug-in devices for power sockets. All Reto shell solutions have a built-in energy consumption meter.

FAKRO lets you equip attics exactly as needed
The Z-Wave Alliance Principal member FAKRO produces smart home solutions for energy-efficient and comfortable attic accommodation. At Light+Building, the manufacturer will be presenting home network integrated skylights, interior and exterior shutters, blinds and awnings. For example, the electrically operated FTP-V Electro Z-Wave skylight, which has an integrated ZRD rain and wind sensor. In addition, it will be presenting the ARF Z-Wave interior blinds. These consist of a special material that protects the occupants from harmful UV rays. With the alternative ARZ-Z-Wave external shutters, the heat loss in winter can be reduced by up to 20%. This solution is also available with solar power operation. Interior and exterior shutters can be included as an option in the FTP-V skylight. The user controls the device with the wall embedded Z-Wave controller.

Fujikom: The smart home in the smartphone
In Frankfurt, the Japanese developer Fujikom will be presenting a wireless Z-Wave solution that can control up to 232 LED bulbs from one PC or Smart Phone. The user can configure the lighting online with a smart phone or computer. In addition, trade fair visitors can learn how to monitor and measure their energy consumption via the internet, a smartphone or a computer using the new Tap Outlet. The Fujikom solutions will soon be also available as apps for the iPad.
