X2O Media Takes Home Two Awards at InfoComm 2011
X2O Media, a full-service provider of software, network management, and content services for digital signage and real-time visual communications, today announced that the company was honored with two awards at InfoComm 2011 in Orlando. X2O's NITRO graphics platform received a Commercial Integrator BEST Award, while the company took home a 2011 AV Technology End-User Award for the deployment of its Xpresenter™ digital signage platform at West Virginia University (WVU).
It is an honor to receive these distinguished awards from Commercial Integrator and AV Technology magazines, said X2O Media President and CEO David Wilkins. We are proud of the versatile solution we've provided WVU and the innovation behind our NITRO graphics platform. To have our efforts recognized by the commercial market is truly gratifying.
CompThe Commercial Integrator BEST Awards recognize products and services that help Commercial Integrator's readers run their businesses better and be more profitable. A panel of commercial industry experts, including editors of Commercial Integrator and leading integrators, judged the entries in each of 62 categories based on creativity, innovation, incorporated equipment, ease of installation or implementation, and business benefits. In the category of Digital Signage Software, they chose X2O Media's NITRO graphics platform.
Providing unparalleled performance and exciting new display possibilities for any kind of dynamic digital signage content, NITRO combines stunning graphics and real-time animations with powerful features such as an innovative Channel-in-Channel™ capability for a virtually unlimited number of overlapping channel layers, and support for the creation of 3D objects and tickers. Representing an evolutionary leap in digital signage graphics, the platform is bolstered with support for multitouch touchscreens and for any resolution output — from single screens to giant multiscreen command centers and video walls.
The first-annual AV Technology End-User Awards recognize innovations that specifically benefit end-users, technology managers, and facility directors in all commercial sectors. A panel of esteemed judges selected the winners based on ease of use, reliability, overall network impact, and return on investment. In the category of Best Use of AV in Emergency Preparedness, X2O Media was a winner for the deployment of its Xpresenter software at WVU. According to the judges, the WVU installation was chosen because the project represents a superb deployment of various technologies to meet a specific and critical need for emergency notification.
At WVU, Xpresenter is powering a digital signage network spanning three campuses that assists in protecting the university's nearly 29,000 students and 7,900 faculty and staff members in the event of a campus emergency, in addition to providing current and pertinent information. With Xpresenter, the system typically displays daily events calendars, WVU news and information, WVU video productions, and current information on student organizations, special events, athletics, and social media feeds. In an emergency, an RSS feed from the WVU Department of Public Safety switches signage into emergency notification mode. Screens are interrupted to display emergency or weather alerts in predefined formats, along with current information and instructions.
