Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that its core network is enabling WIND Mobile to bring Wide Band AMR, otherwise known as HD Voice, services to customers across Canada. WIND Mobile is the first wireless operator in Canada to provide this service to its customers, allowing for a better quality, clearer voice service experience.
/> Since 2008, Huawei has steadily grown its relationship with WIND Mobile providing core network infrastructure as well supplying devices to WIND's line-up of consumer and business handsets. Supporting the first commercial launch of Wide Band AMR in Canada, Huawei will help WIND Mobile grow its customer base in a highly competitive landscape. Huawei's core network is customized specifically to meet WIND Mobile's business needs, and will help provide customers with enhanced voice frequency range from 200-3400Hz to 50-7000Hz.

Our shared commitment to providing the latest technology innovations to our customers made Huawei the clear partner to drive our business forward, said Marius Armeanca, CTO, WIND Mobile. Huawei was instrumental in helping us create a technology that will do for phones what high-definition did for television. With the customized Wide Band AMR Service, our customers will realize superior voice quality and an improved overall experience.

We are proud to support WIND Mobile in this exciting announcement for the Canadian market, said Charles Ding, President of Huawei North America. Huawei's expertise in customized core networks is the ideal foundation for WIND Mobile's Wide Band AMR Service, and we are honored to be part of the first Canadian initiative to provide this high-quality voice feature to WIND Mobile customers.
