GOEPEL electronic announces the incorporation of the German test expert company WG-Test into the global alliance program GATE (GOEPEL Associated Technical Experts). The focus of the cooperation is the development and practical implementation of new products and modules based on JTAG/Boundary Scan instrumentation as well as enhancements in the integration of JTAG/Boundary Scan products in existing test systems. The first project integrated JTAG/Boundary Scan solutions from GOEPEL electronic into an HP/Agilent 3070 In-Circuit Tester.
“Since 2008 we’ve been cooperating with WG-Test, and have been excited by the team’s impressive performance and competence from the very beginning”, says Alexander Beck, GOEPEL electronic’s Boundary Scan integration expert. “This cooperation is another important step towards an even closer collaboration of both companies not only for integrating JTAG/Boundary Scan into existing ATE systems but in respect of joint product developments. The first solution is an initial step to be followed by additional projects.”

“GOEPEL electronic as the market leader for Boundary Scan systems is our natural cooperation partner, because many of our customers already are utilising a Boundary Scan system of this vendor“, adds Walter Grandjot, CEO of WG-Test. “The GOEPEL electronic system is far more flexible and has higher performance than the comparatively simple Boundary Scan application of the HP/Agilent 3070 test system, designed as pure production system. With the developed link between the systems we are able to offer our customers the high-quality and extensive GOEPEL solution in our 3070 testers. In the final analyses, this means a 4 way win situation for Agilent, for GOEPEL electronic, for us and in particular for our customers.”

The company based in Herrenberg-Kuppingen/Germany was incorporated into the GATE™ program as a “Select Member” and contributes to the strategic development partnership with their proven expertise. In the focus of future joint projects are developments of software and hardware to support the VarioTAP® technology as well as generic library models for the integrated JTAG/Boundary Scan development environment SYSTEM CASCON™.
