Electronic components manufacturer, TT electronics Welwyn Components, has announced the launch of a new customer portal and updated website to improve communications with its customers. Accessed via a unique customer log-in, the new Welwyn portal will provide a personalised web service to its visitors who will be able to access product information, stock availability and technical expertise as well as tracking the progress of their order from receiving an initial online quotation, to payment, order tracking and delivery.
The development of the portal came following feedback from the company’s extensive customer database, who were asked a series of questions to identify how Welwyn could further improve its customer service.

The structure of the portal will allow existing customers faster and easier access to product information and will shorten response times to requests for quotations and technical advice. Buyers will also have the ability to interact with Welwyn’s technical experts directly via the portal, receiving technical advice to enable them to select the right products to meet their requirements.

Welwyn also hopes that the new portal will bring direct cost saving benefits to the business, including improved inventory management and a reduction in order processing costs.

Alongside the development of the new portal, Welwyn has made significant improvements to the functionality of its website. Users are now able to download the company’s up-to-date Short Form catalogue as well as access detailed case studies showcasing the practical application of Welwyn products and their capabilities. In addition, the website has also been expanded to include a page of calculation tools, allowing design engineers to calculate their voltage, resistance, power and current requirements.

The portal and website will be supported and complemented by a web optimisation campaign to direct new customers to the site.

Managing Director, Jon Reardon-Smith commented: “We constantly strive to give our customers a higher level of service, and with an increasing amount of our business taking place online, it made good sense to improve our e-business capabilities. The new portal and improved website will provide our customers with fast, accurate and up-to-date data retrieval as well as access to the expertise of our engineers.”
