Volvo Car Corporation anticipates a continued strong demand thanks to successful models, such as the Volvo XC60, V60 and S60. Based on this the company has decided to increase its production capacity. Consequently, Volvo Car Corporation needs to recruit an additional 600 employees to the Swedish plants in Gothenburg, Olofström, Skövde and Floby, and also to the Ghent plant in Belgium.
We are currently selling everything we can produce of the Volvo XC60, V60 and S60. Now we have to further invest in order to meet the demand, says Stefan Jacoby, President & CEO of Volvo Car Corporation.

* Volvo Cars Body Components in Olofström will need an additional 200 members of staff after summer vacation. This is additional to the ongoing recruitment of 100 persons.
* The plant in Torslanda, Gothenburg, is planning for another increase of its production volumes, from 52 cars per hour to 57 cars during autumn. This will require 250 new employees.
*Volvo Cars Engines in Skövde and the production site for brake discs and con rods in Floby need to increase production. Growing volumes means offering around 75 people in these plants permanent positions within the next couple of months.
*In the plant in Ghent, Belgium, approximately 100 staff will be recruited in order to increase the production of the Volvo XC60 in particular.

It is a great pleasure to be able to create employment for such a large number of people. This also shows the importance of the very dynamic automotive industry, says Stefan Jacoby.

Two months ago, Volvo Car Corporation announced its decision to recruit up to 1,000 people in Sweden, mainly engineers within Research & Development. This recruitment is ongoing and is separate from the manufacturing recruitment mentioned above.
