Top five most popular fitness technologies
An ever increasing range of health and fitness focused technologies are enabling a new generation of people to achieve their fitness goals. According to a survey of 1,076 UK adults, carried out by LaptopsDirect.co.uk, more than 1 in 3 (37%) of those who have challenged themselves to get fitter during 2019 believe that their choice of tech products is helping them reach their goals.
The results of the survey identified the top five health and fitness gadgets, with wearable fitness trackers (34%) and smart watches (26%) cited to be the most helpful technology, according to those surveyed.
Meal planning smartphone apps were ranked third (19%), closely followed by heart rate monitors (12%); lower tech wearable trackers, that simply monitor the users heart rate.
The final place in the top five was taken by calorie counting smartphone apps, with nine percent of those surveyed voting these tools as the most useful tech to help with their plans for a healthier 2019.
An incredible 67% feel that they would have already failed their planned New Years resolutions without the motivation that these technologies have been providing.
Mark Kelly, Marketing Manager at LaptopsDirect.co.uk, said: “Given that technology is such a big part of our lives now and health and fitness resolutions are always so popular at the turn of a New Year, it’s hardly surprising that so many people are investing in technology to help monitor how they’re doing and motivate them to continue.
“From using fitness trackers whilst walking to work to apps that help them plan meals to ensure they’re eating healthier, it’s clear that Brits are using their tech savviness to help them reach their 2019 fitness goals.”
