Argus Cyber Security announced further expansion of its In-Vehicle Network Protection suite with its new groundbreaking ECU Fingerprinting technology. This technology makes it much harder for hackers to perform successful cyber-attacks on vehicles. For the first time, it is now possible to identify and trace to their source messages that were maliciously initiated by an unauthorised or wrong ECU.

Tests have shown this technology to be highly accurate at identifying malicious messages with zero false positives. ECU Fingerprinting pinpoints a malicious message and the ECU that triggered it. This vital information was to date unattainable due to the nature of the communication protocol in the in-vehicle network.

“We are very excited about collaborating with our OEM and Tier 1 customers as well as with our partners to bring this revolutionary technology to market”, explained Yaron Galula, Co-Founder and CTO of Argus.

“Combined with our existing solutions, this latest technology will further improve detection accuracy, radically reduce false positive rates, and shorten the time and effort during deployment. Its implementation will substantially increase the difficulty for hackers to wage a successful cyber-attack".

"All of these benefits make it cost-effective when compared with other tools that protect against messages coming from an unauthorised ECU such as secure on-board communications, which is based on message authentication. This all adds up to incredible gains for our customers and motorists alike.”

Moving forward, this technology will form an integral component of Argus' In-Vehicle Network Protection suite, adding a unique and complementary detection method to our proven technologies. With this latest addition to Argus' multi-layered solution portfolio, Argus customers will benefit from the highest possible level of automotive cyber security.

“I am thrilled that Argus has once again proven its leadership in automotive cyber security,” said Ofer Ben-Noon, Co-Founder and CEO of Argus. “We are committed to further investing in research to provide the industry with ever increasing levels of security".

"At Argus, we are constantly pushing the boundaries to provide cutting-edge solutions that stay ahead of the dynamic threat landscape. When it comes to something as vital as cyber security, there is no other way”.
