Multi-Contact to exhibit Rugged Connector Portfolio at DSEI 2013
Multi-Contact have announced that they will be exhibiting a range of high performance electrical connectors at the DSEI defence and security exhibition this September. Products on display will include the versatile CombiTac modular connector system, designed for the most rugged applications. The CombiTac system allows a range of contact types within a single connector, including fibre optic connections with their high bandwidth, high signal density and immunity to EMI and crosstalk.
ThesAlso on display will be Multi-Contact's new TBC connector, which is available in two or three pole versions and ensures a reliable connection even in conditions of severe vibration. As well as high shock and impact resistance, the connector has a high level of tolerance to hydrocarbons such as fossil fuels.
The TBC is simple to connect and disconnect, and its mechanical design prevents pole reversal due incorrect coupling. Environmental protection is IP55 when mated and IP2X unmated. The unit is rated for voltages up to 1000 V and continuous currents as high as 180 A.
Bus bars in vehicles reduce the size and weight for power transmission, and a range of fork plugs for direct connection to copper or aluminium bus bars will also be on the Multi-Contact stand.
With some vehicles being required to effectively act as mobile generator sets, a suitable connector for power take-off uses is the heavy duty 21BV. This round, single-pole insulated coded connector provides reliable operation, IP65, IP68 and IP69K ingress protection and is salt spray tested for harsh environments. With a current carrying capacity of up to 1000 A, it is rated at 1000 V and can accept conductor cross-sections between 150 mm2 and 400 mm2.
Multi-Contact will be exhibiting jointly on Stand N9-320 with Staubli, who will be highlighting their quick release couplings for fluids and gases. The DSEI defence and security technology exhibition takes place at London's ExCeL exhibition centre from 10 to 13 September 2013.
