Switchtec's sounder beacons are compact and high performance for demanding applications

The Superovolux is an innovative design incorporating a beacon and an alarm into one compact package. The beacon sounder measures just 126mm in height and has a diameter of 83mm (approx 5 x 3 inches).

Undoubtedly one of the most advanced products available from Sirena, the Superovolux utilises the latest Luxeon 'rebel' LED technology where the beacon is powered by a single, ultra bright, multi chip LED that is only 1.5mm square yet capable of making this one of the brightest LEDs currently available in this field.



The Superovolux is fitted with a high performance electronic multi tone sounder. This sounder has a loud maximum output of 99db at one metre and has 32 tones, each selectable by internal DIP switches. There are two tones available simultaneously and they range from continuous to high, low, siren, and descending multi-tone. Frequency ranges are from 300Hz to 2850Hz depending upon which tone is selected. The sounder also has two built in potentiometers for volume control and progression control (time period for sound to reach its maximum volume).

To aid installers, the Superovolux is very easy to wire. Connections are made on the base of the unit and the cable is simply fed underneath (panel mount) or via the cable gland supplied with the unit for surface mounting. There are two terminals for power (marked L+ and N-), and three other terminals that allow for two-tone output at any one time and a choice between a flashing or a continuous beacon output.



For a wide range of applications, lens colours available are blue, amber, red, green, yellow and clear. The Superovolux has a versatile voltage input range of 12-24VAC/DC, resulting in reduced stock holding as it is able to operate on 12 or 24V AC or DC. Further voltage options are in development.



With an excellent ingress protection rating of IP65, the Superovolux provides a compact, combined sounder beacon that is waterproof to the elements and can safely be installed outdoors.
