Summit Technology Introduces iPad Power Monitoring App for PowerSight Meters
Summit Technology announces the introduction of PSM-i (Powersight Manager software for the iPad) available as a free app download on Apple iTunes. With PSM-i installed on an iPad, the user can setup, operate, display and analyze data graphically from a WiFi-enabled PowerSight meter that is often inaccessible without taking cumbersome safety precautions.
For The iPad’s small size, light weight and excellent graphics capabilities make it an ideal companion for testing with PowerSight meters. The “Wizard Screens” feature provides a simple and intuitive guide to planning and setting up a power study. In addition, the user can view dozens of high-resolution screens that allow real-time access to waveforms and phasor diagrams as well as multi-meter displays of instantaneous power values. An iPad equipped with PSM-i also enables the user to record and download monitoring data and then review, store and/or email the results.
“PSM-i has been designed to simplify the process and guarantee the success of every power study,” said Ken Kious, president of Summit Technology and inventor of the original PowerSight power meter. “For instance, the built-in Report Writer will compile the data in a few seconds and generate a professional-looking summary with text table and graph plots. You can use your iPad to email a report and, if desired, send the raw log data files directly from the field to your client, a fellow engineer, or to your office for others to analyze.”
