SMK Electronics to License Movea’s MotionIC Platform Technologies

SMK will also be showing the product, based on its “Jade” remote control form factor, and leading discussions with Service Providers on emerging digital television services that will leverage Movea’s MotionIC technology through a new breed of set-top box and motion-driven UI’s for navigating digital media. “Movea’s advanced MotionIC technology provides best-in-class motion sensing and pointing capabilities, enabling us to promote the most viable and cost effective solutions to the PayTV market,” said Patrick Delanoeije, General Manager, SMK Europe. “We anticipate that leading European Service Providers will adopt this proven sensor technology in an accelerated fashion following Movea’s first major commercial IPTV deployment in Q4 2010.
