SDI video devices span complete signal chain

The new 12G-SDI video solutions for 4K UHD broadcast video transport applications enhance next-generation system designs by providing higher density, lower power, and lower material cost for transporting high quality UHD images compared to lower speed solutions. 

Typical applications include next-generation 4K/8K video production solutions, broadcast video routing and production switchers, video distribution amplifiers, video cameras and monitors. All MACOM SDI products are fully compliant with the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) standards. 

MACOM’s SDI components include Crosspoints, Signal Conditioners and Redrivers with channel counts that range from 2x2 to 288x288, and data rates from 19 Mbps to 28 Gbps. These components (including the M21170G-12 and M21605G-12) can support up to 12G SDI and a variety of board materials and switching architectures by providing robust signal integrity margin.

Applications include video broadcast routers and switchers, HDMI switchers and DWDM physical layer routers.

MACOM’s SDI Reclockers enable robust video broadcast systems by removing jitter from SDI video signals.

Ideal for HD and UHD video broadcast equipment, products include innovative multi-rate and multi-channel reclockers, like the M23145G-14.

SDI Cable Equalisers include the M23544G-14, which are specifically designed to compensate for the losses that SDI video signals accumulate when transmitted across long 75Ω copper cables. They are ideal for the receive path of HD and UHD video broadcast equipment.

SDI Cable Drivers include the M23428G-33. They are multi-channel and dual output components designed to drive 75Ω copper cables and are ideal for the transmit path of HD and UHD video broadcast equipment. 

MACOM also supports a large portfolio of components for optical communications from long haul core networks to FTTx access networks.

The portfolio addresses the high performance analogue interfaces between electrical and optical domains, and provides solutions to meet the demanding size, power and signal integrity requirements of today’s high speed networks, which are expanding to meet the continuously growing demand for data capacity.
