RS at Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2009

RS Components will be demonstrating the benefits of its Production Packaging service at this year’s Southern Manufacturing and Electronics Exhibition, which takes place on 11-12th February at FIVE in Farnborough, Hampshire. Located on stand E60, members of the RS Electronics Sales Division (ESD) will also be on hand to share their expertise and discuss how RS can meet your individual requirements.

Visitors to the RS Stand will be able to learn more about its Production Packaging service, launched in May 2008. The company invested 1,000 man hours and almost £4m in the new service to provide customers with the opportunity to order electronic components in industry-standard packaging for use in automated PCB assembly equipment. This service is about more than just the packaging, meeting a number of requirements made by the small batch electronic production customer, including: flexible quantities, low pricing, quality assurance and fast, reliable delivery.

Members of RS’ ESD, established in 2007, will also be on the stand to discuss its tailored services which deliver value for money solutions to electronics customers. When designs move into production, the ESD can cross-reference and quote on Bill-of-Material requests, discuss terms on larger orders and process scheduled and forward orders. The team also supplies difficult to source items outside of RS’ standard range using its own global purchasing network. Advanced inventory management means customers can rely on RS to provide reliable on-time, next day delivery from stock.

Both the Production Packaging service and the ESD have been developed with the customer in mind. All products in the Production Packaging range are flagged for easy identification on the website and can be ordered by phone by simply adding a P to the end of the RS stock number. The ESD team are experienced industry professionals and fully understand electronics customer requirements, which mean they are able to provide a personalised and local service through offices across the country.
