RS Components, the leading international distributor of electronic, electro-mechanical and industrial products, today announced a new commercial agreement across Europe and Asia-Pacific with APEM, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of switch and switch panels. Supporting the new relationship, APEM microsites have also been launched across all RS European websites.
The new agreement sees increased co-operation between the two companies on a range of activities. Highlights from the package of measures agreed are coordinated marketing and sales initiatives, and increased range developments to be held in-stock by RS. All activities will be implemented simultaneously in RS operating companies throughout Europe and Asia-Pacific, giving design engineers access to a trusted and reliable source of information and stock on APEM products.

RS currently stocks over 2100 APEM products, featuring the latest human-to-machine switch interface components suitable for new designs in a variety of environments. The range will be further increased this summer, as over 890 new APEM lines are added into the RS product portfolio. All products are available direct from stock on RS websites, supporting engineers’ needs for low volume samples for design and prototyping and production quantities below standard manufacturer order volumes.

Commenting on the new distribution agreement, Eric Plantié, Corporate Deputy General Manager said “RS play a vital role for APEM in helping to create demand for our electronics components in new designs. With on-hand stock, increased new products and excellent marketing capabilities, RS have demonstrated they are able to drive our relationship forward across Europe and Asia Pacific”.

For RS, Chris Page, General Manager, Electronics Division said “APEM is a world leader in switch technology used by design engineers. Working together, our partnership with APEM will help customers get fast access to the latest devices and technical information to support their new designs.”

RS has today also announced the launch of dedicated APEM microsites across Europe. The sites can be accessed through the main RS website, and contain links to the full APEM switch product ranges held in-stock by RS, along with application notes and supporting technical information to help engineers and buyers in the evaluation of APEM components. The sites can be accessed at rswww.com/electronics.
