RGB Networks, the leader in high-capacity multi-screen video delivery solutions, today announced that strong worldwide demand for its TV Everywhere solutions has propelled the company’s lifetime product shipments past $200 million. The pace of RGB’s growth is accelerating with the company earning its second $100 million in shipments in two years compared to over three years for its first $100 million. Building on a profitable 2010, RGB enjoyed a successful first quarter of 2011, which was profitable on a proforma basis with record bookings.
“Achieving $200 million in lifetime shipments is another significant milestone for RGB and our accelerated pace of growth clearly shows that we have the right TV Everywhere solutions at the right time as service providers around the world are striving to deliver live and on-demand programming to TVs, tablets, PCs and mobile devices,” said Jef Graham, CEO of RGB Networks. “We have now achieved the size, revenues, profitability and broad customer base that position RGB for a successful public offering.”

Demand for RGB’s TV Everywhere solutions has been growing strongly, particularly for the company’s award-winning Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG™). More than 30 major service providers across the globe are currently taking advantage of the industry-leading capabilities of the VMG to power trials and deployments of multi-screen TV Everywhere services. The VMG’s unique combination of unmatched transcoding capacity and scalability with true ‘carrier-class’ reliability make it the ideal solution for cost-effectively converting trials into full-scale launches of multi-screen video services for millions of subscribers.

In addition to the VMG, RGB’s new TransAct Family of hardware- and software-based TV Everywhere solutions has performed well. In particular, several major international mobile carriers are taking advantage of the flexibility of the software-based TransAct products to successfully conduct large-scale trials of live and on-demand programming delivered to mobile devices.

The need for mobile video delivery solutions is a major driver of RGB’s sales in the European and Asia-Pacific regions, with significant growth being seen in Western Europe, Russia, India and China, whereas the majority of customers in North America are currently emphasizing video delivery to PCs and tablets, with the focus sharpening rapidly on media tablets such as Apple Computer’s iPad, as well as Android-based devices like the Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy. These powerful multimedia devices are optimized for viewing high-resolution video and their fast-growing popularity is driving service providers to support them. Latin America is another major growth market for RGB as operators throughout the region transition their networks to IP for the delivery of advanced services.
