RadioScape continues to expand operations in Asia Pacific
RadioScape, a world leader in digital audio and multimedia broadcast and receiver technology, has announced that it will shortly be opening a new Development Centre in the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, which will initially create ten new jobs. The new Centre will be located at No.1 Science Park West Avenue, Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, Shatin, New Territories, Hong Kong.
The “This Mobile TV solution is based on the well proven Eureka 147, DAB (Digital Audio Broadcast) standard with an additional layer of error correction to ensure robust performance for DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcast) or DAB-IP (DAB Internet Protocol),” added Phil Smith, RadioScape’s Senior VP Sales & Operations. “DAB-IP was cited by many leading technology companies such as Microsoft at the recent 3GSM conference as being a key enabling technology for Mobile TV deployment as it is proven in the field, robust and there are frequencies already available in many countries.”
RadioScape already has a significant presence in the Asia Pacific region with a regional office in Hong Kong that has rapidly grown to 25 staff since its opening over a year ago. “Hong Kong is a tremendous place to do business,” explained John Hall, RadioScape’s CEO. “There is a ready pool of skilled engineers available that have a tremendous work ethic. Our Hong Kong team has delivered some amazing results particularly in the area of module customisation with a string of right first time designs.”
The office in Hong Kong enables RadioScape to be close to the customer base for its highly successful range of innovative, digital radio modules, which is predominately in China. As a result, the team can be very responsive to customer requests, both in their language and in their time zone, to ensure that product deliverables precisely meet their requirements. The two centre operation of Hong Kong and London provides the ability to take advantage of the time difference in that London can take over projects whilst Hong Kong sleeps to give continuous, 24 hours a day project development and support.
Apart from the development and customization work, the Hong Kong operation is also vital in that it enables RadioScape to manage the entire supply chain which is locally based. Sourcing of components, PCBs, manufacturing and delivery are all under local control to ensure that RadioScape can give its customers the best possible service.
