Premier Farnell commitment to the environment recognised as company achieves membership of European Dow Jones Sustainability Index
Premier Farnell plc announced that it has been accepted as a member of the European Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). The accolade provides recognition of the success of the company’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, its enhanced Trust Agenda, and the importance it places on environmental performance across its global operations.
InitThis accolade follows Premier Farnell being cited as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for 2011 on the 5th annual list released by the Ethisphere Institute, a New York think tank, earlier this year.
“Sustainability is a key part of our business strategy, with the Trust Agenda playing a significant role in ensuring the long-term success of our business in a rapidly changing world,” said Steven Webb, Company Secretary, Premier Farnell. “ Being recognised by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is an important achievement and provides us with a new way to communicate our leading sustainability performance to US and international customers and investors, who are often more familiar with this ranking than with our UK accolades.”
