PMC-Sierra Named One of the Ten Most Competitive Optical Communications Brands in China
PMC-Sierra, Inc the Internet infrastructure semiconductor solution provider, today announced the company was selected as one of the top 10 competitive telecom brands in the optical communications industry in China by the Asia-Pacific Optical Communications Committee and the China Institute of Communications. The award was presented at the recent 2009 China Optical Communications Development and Competitiveness Forum (ODC’09) in Beijing.
PMC-“This award recognizes the excellent technology, products and customer support that are required to achieve an outstanding brand,” said Gary Zhang, China country manager for PMC-Sierra. “PMC-Sierra is working closely with customers, service providers, and standards committees to help advance optical communications in China as deployment of new technologies accelerates in this important market.”
In China, PMC-Sierra provides leading semiconductor solutions for Metro Optical Transport equipment, Wireless Infrastructure equipment, and Fiber To The Home equipment (EPON, GPON and 10G EPON).
The selection process ranked each company on the basis of two categories: Brand Awareness (high level of customer satisfaction and brand popularity); and Brand Prospect (cultivation of brand with outstanding technology innovation, corporate culture and company management).
