Ophir Photonics Group Introduces Perpetual Lifetime Warranty on Laser Power Meters & Sensors

Certification and calibration are important processes that keep most test equipment performing at peak levels, stated Gary Wagner, President of Ophir-Spiricon. In general, Ophir's instruments are very reliable and unlikely to drift or fail over time, but the possibility exists. General industry practice is to have power and energy meters, as well as laser sensors, recalibrated and recertified every 12 months. Depending on the application, ISO and FDA standards may require both be performed regularly.

To qualify for the Ophir Perpetual Lifetime Warranty, the equipment must be returned for recalibration within 30 days of the current calibration's expiration date. The warranty includes all parts and labor for the next year. If the meter or sensor is not returned during the 30-day recalibration period, there is still an option to re-qualify for a Perpetual Warranty with a recalibration and repair that restores the equipment to a certified level.
If a product is discontinued, the Perpetual Warranty is terminated after one year. Ophir factory warranty warrants that all meters and sensors shall be free from material defects; the warranty does not cover damages from improper use of the meter or sensor.

The Perpetual Lifetime Warranty covers all of Ophir's laser measurement sensors and power/energy meters, including the company's new BeamTrack sensors, a unique series of thermal detectors that combine multiple functions in one device: power, energy, beam position, and beam size. The sensors also provide information on centering and beam wander, all in a compact unit that is the same size as single function detectors of the same power level. The Perpetual Warranty also covers Ophir's laser power/energy meters, including:
