Ohmite Manufacturing has achieved true global manufacturing status, following the acquisition of Arcol in the UK by parent company Heico. Arcol and Ohmite, on behalf of Heico, will manage Arcol's operations going forward.

The acquisition provides Ohmite with a manufacturing facility in Europe to add to its current facilities in Mexico and the USA. Arcol, founded in the mid 1960s, was acquired by Mike Pritchard and Alun Morgan in 1992.

Greg Pace, President, Ohmite, commented: "The combination of Arcols high quality wire wound product line compliments Ohmite's global offering.  Arcol is strong in aluminium housed resistors which will fit nicely within our selling strategy. The combined selling portfolio is without question one of the industry's most comprehensive for power, sensing and thermal resistive solutions."

Mike Pritchard said: "This is a very nice fit for Arcol and its employees, distributors and customers. The combined product lines and distribution channels will result in sustained growth for Ohmite. We are pleased to be selling to such a fine organisation and we are proud of what Arcol has accomplished."
