Nu Horizons is Quantel Supplier of the Year
Now in its 18th year, the Quantel Supplier of the Year Award has gained recognition as one of the industry’s toughest challenges. The scheme measures all Quantel’s suppliers against a wide range of criteria from on-time delivery, accuracy of delivered goods, supply chain administration and paperwork. Once again, Nu Horizons (which was known as DT Electronics until April 1, 2007) has come out top of the pile with a stunning 99.8% performance to pick up the coveted trophy for the third year in a row, and an unprecedented seventh time overall.
A spQuantel Purchasing Manager, Simon Carter, said, “The relationship between Nu Horizons and Quantel must be the ultimate example of a real business partnership. Tony Frere and his team have supported us unstintingly over many years, setting a standard for service and customer care that is a shining example. And I’m delighted to see that same ethos has been carried through now that the company is under the Nu Horizons umbrella.”
Tony Frere, Managing Director of Nu Horizons Electronics UK, added, “Throughout the recent changes that have affected our company we have never lost sight of the need to put customer service at the top of the agenda. This is the first major award we’ve received as Nu Horizons Electronics in the UK, and it’s a clear indication that we continue to get our priorities right. We’re delighted for everyone in the team here, and grateful to Quantel for this much-valued recognition of our efforts.”
As part of the Supplier of the Year Award over the years, Quantel has funded a full page advertisement for the winner in a leading electronics title. This year, Tony Frere has generously elected instead to donate the cash equivalent to charity. It is to be split between two organisations – Alzheimers Research and St George’s University, the latter to help fund the pre-release testing programme for its promising new Crohn’s Disease vaccine.
