New EMC Systems Engineer for Schaffner

Schaffner has announced the appointment of Tim Thompson to the position of EMC Systems Engineer. In his new role Tim will work closely with customers to meet their needs for EMC test systems taking due regard of any specific system requirements or limitations. Tim will operate worldwide to liase with customers throughout the system design process, oversee installation and provide full training to end-users.
Tim is a graduate from UMIST and spent eighteen years working as a RF Systems Engineer designing, down to component level, demanding military radio systems for both fixed and mobile applications. Further relevant experience has been gained from working on Vehicle Licence Plate Recognition systems, testing industrial computers and EMC compliance testing at a major national test house. In addition to RF design and test Tim has a broad knowledge of IT systems management and integrating complex systems made up of components from multiple sources. Fully conversant with all aspects of on-site commissioning Tim will also ensure full technical documentation will be provided will all systems contracts.
