Neutral Tandem Ranks 59 on Fortune’s 2011 List of 100 Fastest-Growing Companies

Neutral Tandem, Inc., announces it is ranked 59th overall on Fortune Magazine’s 2011 list of “100 Fastest-Growing Companies,” an exclusive compilation that is based on the previous three years of overall market performance. The annual collection of rising companies reveals who is succeeding despite a slowing economy. Neutral Tandem ranked in the top 25 in the technology industry coming in at number 21 and also earned honors as the third highest ranking company in the state of Illinois.
“This past year we have focused on ensuring our global products and solutions met the growing demands of the wholesale telecommunications industry,” comments Ed Evans, CEO of Neutral Tandem. “With the acquisition of Tinet in the fall of 2010, the launch of our HD Voice solutions earlier this year, and unveiling EtherCloud, our global end-to-end Ethernet delivery platform, we are pleased with what we’ve achieved thus far and look forward to new opportunities in 2012.”
Neutral Tandem earned these rankings by posting 32 percent revenue growth over the last three years on average, as well as an average profit growth of 54 percent. Neutral Tandem continues to be poised for success in the future by streamlining the interconnection of voice, IP Transit and Ethernet services to over 700 carriers and service providers worldwide.

Selection and Qualifying Criteria
In compiling this year’s list, Fortune examined all companies domestic or foreign that is trading on a major U.S. stock exchange with a stock price of at least $5 and a minimum market capitalization of $250 million. Companies must have revenue and net income of at least $50 million and $10 million, respectively, for the four quarters ended on or before April 30, 2011; and has posted an annualized growth in revenue and earnings per share of at least 15 percent annually over the three years ended on or before April 30, 2011. Companies that met these criteria are ranked by revenue growth rate, EPS growth rate and three year annualized total return. The overall ranking is based on the sum of these three criteria.
