The National Microelectronics Institute (NMI), the trade association representing the semiconductor industry in the UK and Ireland, has created a new class of membership. ‘Business Associate Membership’ is intended for companies with a keen interest in the performance of the sector and able to offer additional support to NMI members. The first of the NMI’s new Business Associate Members is Oracle, the world’s largest enterprise software company.
JohnHe continued, “We’re proud to have Oracle as our first Business Associate Member, the company has intimate knowledge of the sector and already provides our membership with enterprise software solutions on which their businesses depend.”
Enrique Lopez Tello, Vice President Manufacturing & Hi-Tech EMEA at Oracle said, “In providing the microelectronics sector with business software that raises operational efficiency, we need to be fully aware of the evolving needs of supply chain management and semiconductor manufacturing processes for example. By becoming a member of the NMI we aim to participate more closely in the work of the Institute and to gain even more insight into the challenges faced by the industry as a whole.”
“Many of the world’s leading OEM, high technology and semiconductor companies use Oracle products, including all of the top 25 Electronic OEMs, eight of the top ten semiconductor and electronic manufacturing service companies and all of the top 10 fabless semiconductor organisations. Oracle provides business value through highly verticalised, integrated and innovative solutions by integrating technology and business process across all lines of business.”
