National Instruments to Open Shared Operations Center in Costa Rica
National Instruments announced it is opening a shared operations center in San José, Costa Rica. Scheduled to open in Q2 2011, the new center is expected to employ 200 people over the next five years in customer relationship management, financial services, IT and sales operations positions. National Instruments is opening the center, which is expected to be a $700,000 USD investment by the end of 2011, to optimize global operations to support the company’s growth.
Founded in 1976, National Instruments develops and manufactures software and hardware products that engineers and scientists use for test, control and embedded design applications. Throughout the company’s history, National Instruments has demonstrated a solid track record of revenue growth and strong financial performance, most recently reporting record revenue for Q3 2010 of $220 million USD. More than 30,000 companies worldwide use NI technology across a variety of industries such as energy, life sciences, automotive and wireless communications to develop innovative solutions for some of the world’s greatest challenges.
“We are pleased to announce the establishment of National Instruments in Costa Rica,” said Anabel González, minister of foreign trade in Costa Rica. “They are a job-generating source and proof of our progress towards the goals set by the government in terms of FDI attraction and exports; a goal which we have been working towards with the close collaboration of CINDE.”
National Instruments currently is recruiting experienced people to fill key management positions for the new center.
