Movea and Sunrex partner to develop series of motion-based peripherals for IPTV
Movea, the pioneer in motion-sensing and motion-control technologies for business communications, home entertainment and computer peripherals, today announced a technology partnership with Sunrex Technology, the world’s leading laptop keyboard manufacturer, at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Together, the companies will actively develop and jointly promote products based on Movea’s MotionIC platform and SmartMotion technology. The first resulting products from this partnership will be showcased at CES for availability in Q1 2011.
The SmartMotion Air Mini Keyboard includes a full four-row QWERTY keypad in a Smartphone sized form factor, and uses 2.4GHz RF technology for reliable, long range data communications that don’t suffer from the line-of-site restrictions of old fashioned infrared (IR) remotes. The SmartMotion Air Mouse makes enjoying a rich digital entertainment experience as simple and intuitive to navigate on a TV as it is on a computer; controlling movies, music, games and applications with a flick of the wrist.
“Building on Movea’s MotionIC platform will help Sunrex reduce time-to-market for next generation, motion-controlled accessories,” said Jason Hsu, General Manager at Sunrex Technology. “Combined with our expertise in vertical integration and high quality, high volume production, Movea’s MotionIC will enable OEM’s and Service Providers to satisfy a growing demand for Motion Intelligence™ in the IPTV and Connected TV markets.
The MotionIC platform allows partners to rapidly integrate up to nine axes of motion control into their product solutions while optimizing the cost and performance of their solutions through a flexible combination of: chips, chipsets, firmware, software APIs, developer kits and IP licensing.
