Modbus To Analog Modules For Motion Control
DGH Corporation has announced the D3000M series of Modbus compatible smart digital to analog modules that make it easy to control an analog output using a serial port. The D3000M series combines a 12-bit DAC (Digital-to-Analog converter) with programmable analog output control features and communicates using Modbus RTU over an RS-232C or RS-485 link. The series has 16 models: voltage (0-1V, +/- 1V, 0-5V, +/-5V, 0-10V, +/-10Vdc), current (0-20mA, 4-20mA), with either RS-232 or RS-485 input.
OutpThese modules are designed to be used in industrial applications including; continuous variable control valves and actuators, 4-20mA loop interface, controllers, as well as discrete (on/off) solenoids, valves, limit switch sensing and relays.
An 8-bit CMOS microcomputer performs all scaling and calibration tasks in software, eliminating the need for pots, switches or adjustment hardware.
Communication features include channel address, baud rate (300 to 115K), parity, line feed, byte time delays, and checksum. A programmable watchdog timer provides orderly shutdown in the event of host failure.
The modules are packaged in a unique 3.60 x 2.45 x 0.85 ABS case with captive hardware and a plug-in screw terminal connector. Each module requires +10 to +30Vdc unregulated supply at 1.3W (max.). Rated performance is specified from 0 to +70°C, but the modules will operate from -25 to +85°C.
