Luminus Devices, Inc., has announced it has earned Underwriters Laboratory (UL) recognition for its flagship lighting class LED products; the SST-50, SST-90 and CSM-360. UL 8750 is the standard for safety of LED equipment for use in lighting products.
ULs component certification program is intended to reduce the risk and simplify the approval process for lighting manufacturers in obtaining UL listed status for new lamps and luminaires being released to the market. Having successfully completed a battery of UL mechanical and electrical testing, the Luminus SST-50, SST-90 and CSM-360 big-chip LEDs have been added to UL’s online certifications directory.

“Our customers can continue to design their lighting fixtures with confidence, as the UL stamp of approval for our Lighting Class LEDs will enable them to reduce the cost of luminaire certification while accelerating time-to-market,” said Jim Hunter, Vice President & GM Global Commercial Markets, Luminus. “Safety and performance standards are vital to ensuring the adoption of solid-state technology within the lighting industry, and earning UL 8750 recognition demonstrates Luminus’ commitment to our growing list of customers manufacturing next-generation, long-lasting lights that are transforming the LED industry.”

Luminus Lighting Class LEDs have the industry’s highest flux density, and are enabling innovative fixture solutions including track, replacement lamp, high bay, street and area outdoor lighting. The SST-50, SST-90 and CSM-360 are high-lumen, high-efficacy LED packages that allow lighting designers to simplify their luminaires by using fewer sources; thereby reducing fixture cost and complexity, while enabling solutions with fewer points of failure and increased reliability. Luminus Lighting Class LEDs have efficiencies in excess of 100 lumens/watt, color temperatures ranging from 3,000K–6,500K and L70 lumen maintenance of 60,000 hours.
