/> Wavesat will provide LGS with the necessary 4G silicon (known as the “Odyssey 9000” product line), software, reference designs and support for all User Equipment (UE) for LTE developed and implemented during the period of this collaboration. LTE (Long Term Evolution) is an important emerging wireless technology. Wavesat also will provide reference design information to LGS and selected LGS partners for use in building proof of concept designs and associated products. In addition, Wavesat and LGS will jointly explore other opportunities to apply Wavesat’s technology for various 4G solutions.

Wavesat’s multi-protocol architecture allows the Odyssey series of chipsets to support multiple 4G technologies, including LTE and WiMAX, on the same silicon chip. The first LTE chipsets to feature CAT-3 performance (100 Mb/s downlink, 50 Mb/s uplink) for mobile devices will be in USB Dongles, data cards, mobile handsets and MIDs. Odyssey is a highly integrated “System on a Chip” (SOC) with industry-leading performance and low power consumption. It also features a highly flexible and programmable architecture capable of easy adaptation to LTE’s evolving requirements. LGS will leverage these advancements across its product and solution offerings.
