JAOtech wins e-Legacy Medical Advances Award for its Installation at The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield

JAOtech has announced that a project in which it supplied patient bedside terminal system at The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield, received the Medical Advances Award at the e-Legacy awards, voted for by readers of the UK publication Electronic Product Design.
Commenting on the award, EPD editor Tim Fryer said, “The e-Legacy Medical Advances shows the real and positive contribution that electronics design makes to our society. Over 6000 votes were received and The Sheffield Children’s Hospital patient entertainment system based on JAOtech terminals is a deserving winner.”

The winning project at The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield is an innovative system that delivers electronic patient records to the bedside, using terminals originally installed to provide patients with free education and entertainment. The patient records upgrade was delivered by ANS Group in partnership with Provision Network, a division of Quest Software, on JAOtech Smart Terminals. The system was rolled out across all 140 bedside terminals at the hospital, as well as other computers used by clinical staff at nursing stations and in offices.

Michael Vaughan, England Cricket Captain and Patron of Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, visited the hospital to officially unveil the brand new Patient Entertainment Systems, he was impressed with the Smart Terminals.
