JAOtech named Start-Up of the Year at British Engineering Excellence Awards
JAOtech has been presented with the Start-Up of the Year Award the British Engineering Excellence Awards, a prestigious programme that celebrates successful British engineering entrepreneurship. The award is the fifth in a year for the young Redhill-based company.
PresWarren Kressinger-Dunn, CEO of JAOtech, commented, “The British Engineering Excellence Awards are one of the most prestigious awards of the engineering industry, and we are very proud to have been named Start-Up of the Year. This award is a tribute to the whole of the JAOtech team, who together have developed a world class product and successfully taken it to market.”
Now in its second year, the British Engineering Excellence Awards are not designed to celebrate the successes of a few, but demonstrate to all UK engineering companies that it is possible to succeed; that they can work to a high level and, at that high level, compete globally. Entries were scrutinised by a high level independent panel of judges chaired by David Kynaston, of Electronics KTN and companies that make it to the shortlist are indeed the best.
JAOtech also received the Start up of the Year award at the Elektra Awards in 2009, the Best Use of Technology award at the Startups Awards, Product Business of the Year award at the Fast Growth Business Awards, and the Medical Advances Award at the e-Legacy awards, voted for by readers of the Electronic Product Design magazine, for a project at The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield where it played a key part in the patient bedside terminal system.
