Ismosys delivers human vision, memory and connectivity in Europe

Announcing his company’s appointment Ismosys MD Nigel Watt commented that the interaction between human vision, memory and connectivity is generating unprecedented demand for Etron’s premium-quality products and advanced developments: “Etron technology is enabling, for example, naked-eye 3D experience through 3D webcams, on-board camcorders and USB 3.0 8-port devices”.

He cited the burgeoning 3D image capturing, motion-recognition and display technology as a case in point: “This sector is growing fast, but the hardware is complicated and pricey”, Watts said. “Etron was already setting the pace with its controller SoCs for PC cameras and realised the need to continue the trend if it was to enable manufacturers to make real inroads into the 3D/HD consumer market. The company has successfully applied its SoC technological expertise in the impressive eSP668 and eSP768 3D webcam controllers, which Ismosys will offer at very attractive price points.”

Developed for HD webcam applications Etron’s eS668 supports HD at 30 frames per second and is ideal for 3D image/motion, interactive games and other somatosensory uses.

The Etron eSP768 targets 3D image/video capturing & conferencing applications, and features Etron’s proprietary 3D capture technology to support a variety of formats such as anaglyph, polarized and shutter lens.



SDRAM

In the face of rising demand for 'infotainment' and in-car electronics such as navigation devices and driving recorders, Etron offers a comprehensive range of SDRAM chips - available in densities ranging from 8Mb to 1Gb - designed to ensure high-speed buffer memory processing in automotive electronics applications: “Etron has developed its SDRAM products to meet the stringent requirements of international car OEMs, who place a heavy emphasis on quality and reliability”, said Watts. “Etron holds ISO16949 certification”.

Etron’s USB 3.0 4- and 8-port host controllers support the world's fastest USB transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps of data, which is 10 times faster than previous USB 2.0 transfer speeds. “Etron’s latest 8-port host controller requires only 70 seconds to transfer eight 25GB HD movie files simultaneously on eight different hardware devices, such as an external HDD or flash disk” Watts concluded.
