Ismosys has signed a pan-European sales and marketing repping agreement with Aquantia. Ismosys Managing Director Nigel Watts is keen to get Aquantia’s new AQrate PHY technology, with its ability to carry an unprecedented 2.5 and 5Gbit/s Ethernet over up to 100m of legacy Cat 5e and Cat6 cables onto the market.

“It is poised for exponential growth in Europe,” says Watts. “Aquantia’s AQrate product is a disruptive physical layer device technology that delivers important advantages for next generation enterprise networks, delivering a 5-fold increase in bandwidth while leveraging installed cabling infrastructure. AQrate, is the only such solution in the world today, and it is available in production quantities.” Watts said

David Caulfield, Director of Europe Sales Aquantia, expressed his confidence in Ismosys’ ability to develop the key European territories for Aquantia’s standard 10GBASE-T and the new AQrate technologies: “Together, Aquantia and Ismosys are able to deliver a uniquely competitive edge, spanning products, technology, customer service, sales, applications and marketing services,” Caulfield said.

The Ismosys seven pan-European offices will focus on introducing Aquantia’s new AQrate solutions to European Tier 1 OEMs. Such access to the market will secure the wider adoption of Aquantia’s technology by companies engaged in the development of next-generation wireless access point, small cell, video surveillance and enterprise/ campus Ethernet switches and gateway products.

Last week Aquantia was ranked number one among semiconductor companies and number eight overall on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America.

Aquantia’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Faraj Aalaei, credits the company’s growth to an inflection point for 10 Gigabit Ethernet over copper (10GBASE-T) technology that started with the introduction of Romley server platforms in 2012 and is accelerating with the Grantley generation announced in September 2014. These data centre-class of servers drive networking needs beyond 1 Gigabit and into the mass adoption of 10GBASE-T.

Aalaei said, “Aquantia’s success comes from a strong focus in turning technology differentiation into business success. It also comes from delivering best-in-class performance, density and power to our customers. This has made Aquantia the predominant vendor for this long-cycle, high-growth data centre and cloud market. Our compelling trajectory continues with AQratetechnology that enables hundreds of millions of ports in enterprise access networks to upgrade to 2.5GBASE-T and 5GBASE-T over legacy copper infrastructure, driven by the Wave 2 of 802.11ac Access Points.”
