Industry Leaders Gather Next Week For International NTERNATIONAL MOTORSPORT BUSINESS WEEK 2012
Key international industry figures will congregate in the UK for a series of events and networking opportunities during International Motorsport Business Week on 9-15 January 2012.
InteEnvironmentally-friendly technologies will be among the primary topics discussed in 2012 through the Motorsport Industry Association’s (MIA) sixth International Low Carbon Racing Conference, which takes place at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC) on 11 January 2012. The event will be headlined by Lord Green, Minister of State for Trade and Investment, and former Minister for Science and Innovation, Lord Drayson, who will also launch Drayson Racing Technologies’ (DRT) ground-breaking all-electric prototype race car.
International Motorsport Business Week culminates with Autosport International, Europe’s largest dedicated motorsport trade exhibition. Taking place at the NEC on 12-15 January 2012, Autosport International will showcase the latest products and technology developments in motorsport, including Dutch firm Cruden’s motorsport simulator solutions and Quaife Engineering’s six speed heavy duty sequential transmission. Following two days of networking and trading opportunities, the show will open to the public over the weekend.
In addition, International Motorsport Business Week offers those within or wanting to break into the motorsport sector unique opportunities to build contacts through initiatives such as the UKTI Business Exchange, a platform for one-to-one business meetings, on 12-13 January 2012.
The MIA will support these networking events with a series of trade workshops targeted at buyers and decision makers within the motorsport industry. Held at the NEC on 12-13 January 2012, confirmed subjects include business opportunities in NASCAR and the announcement of design and manufacture opportunities surrounding a major international motorsport project.
Safety issues within the sport will also be addressed at the annual Motorsport Safety Fund Watkins Lecture on 13 January 2012.
Autosport International trade tickets are now on sale for £25. For more information on International Motorsport Business Week is available here.
