IDT® (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.) announces that it has been awarded the prestigious ISO/TS16949:2002 certification for all IDT manufacturing facilities. Receiving this award validates the IDT commitment to proactively and continuously strive for (manufacturing) quality improvements and to deliver consistently high-quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations.
The
International Organization for Standards/Technical Specification (ISO/TS) 16949:2002 builds upon the ISO 9000:2000 quality management system international specifications (which IDT has also received). The result is an automotive industry specification that aligns American (QS-9000), German (VDA6.1), French (EAQF) and Italian (AVSQ) automotive quality system standards within the global automotive industry. Not just a single standard, the ISO/TS16949:2002 adds definitive rules for certification, provisions for mandated customer-specific requirements, and a set of process reference manuals developed from extensive automotive experience. The ISO/TS16949:2002 specifications define the quality management system requirements for the design and development, production and, when relevant, installation and service of automotive-related products. The specification is the development of a quality management system that provides for continual improvement, emphasizing defect prevention and the reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain.
