UR Group has announced that it will be attending the DSEi show which runs September 8-11 (Excel Centre, stand 260). UR, a pan-European provider of specialist COTS power and data transmission solutions to the defence industry, will feature an extensive range of distributed and centralised power solutions. These will include TDI’s cutting edge ‘LiquaCore’ vehicle liquid cooled power technology, as well as UR Group’s new configurable compact in-line vehicle power supply. UR will also be running a live ‘RF-over-Fibre’ L Band transmission demo on its stand. RF-over-Fibre converts radio signals to light. The light signal is transmitted through low-cost fibre cable ensuring reliability and integrity with no reduction in signal strength.
Next generation military vehicles are expected to deliver high levels of export power and standardization; TDI’s ‘LiquaCore’ technology, whereby a liquid-cooled extruded “U” shape is used on a DC-DC converter block or DC-AC converter blocks, greatly improves vehicle power management. UR will present during the show how this technique results in highly reliable power conversion and greater performance.

UR will also launch the all new configurable ultra-compact power supply which offers up to 300W of output power, with up to 3 outputs from inputs compatible with either 12V or 24VDC source. The rugged unit is completely sealed giving high protection against ingress and a low-noise performance. At only 25mm in profile the unit is optimised for deployment in land-based vehicles. These power supplies can be customised and are entirely designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom.

UR will also be presenting three-phase shipboard power distribution solutions, scalable UPSs units qualified to Mil-Aero standards as well as configurable rugged routers and switches from partner GarretCom.
