Heliatek Takes Silver Award at Ecosummit 2012

A total of 52 startups and young companies from nine countries were nominated for the Ecosummit Award 2012. The jury was impressed by Heliatek's next generation of photovoltaic technology. The transparent, lightweight, and flexible solar films based on organic semiconductors are much more versatile in their use compared to traditional photovoltaic products. With this smart technology solution, Heliatek wants to be instrumental in establishing environmentally-friendly solar energy as a widespread, commonplace technology.

We are very pleased to have received the silver ECO12 Award as well as proud that the jury recognised the significance of our breakthrough technology.This gives us an extra boost going into our next round of financing this year, during which we should raise €50 million from current and new investors for an additional production line, comments Thibaud Le Séguillon, CEO of Heliatek.

The Ecosummit Award's 53-member expert jury is composed of representatives from cleantech companies, large corporations, utility companies, the media, and various service providers.Jury members come from leading companies such as E.ON, RWE Effizienz, Centrotherm, ABB, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Cisco, and Wirtschaftswoche (a German weekly business news magazine).
