Guifx - Free Update to Oscar User Interface Kit
Guifx, an interface design studio specializing in touchscreen interfaces for home automation and embedded systems, today announced an update for its Oscar User Interface (UI) Kit™. Oscar 2.0 includes new graphics designed from the ground up by Guifx's world-class artists, new supported resolutions, including iPad® compatibility, and much more. As with all Guifx products, updates to the Oscar UI Kit are free for existing users. Customers who purchase the Oscar bundle before Dec. 31 will receive version 2.0 at the lower 1.0 cost.
Designed with ease of use in mind, the Oscar 2.0 UI offers a unique control experience with Guifx's QuicKey™ navigation system. Navigating away from an A/V activity to adjust lights or climate settings quickly becomes a simple, one-touch operation. Non-A/V activities open in a modal window, which is simply closed to return to the previous screen and back to the automation functions.
Unlike solutions with floor plan navigation, Oscar 2.0 utilizes a room grid layout, providing an organized method of selecting and receiving feedback from rooms. Icons representing each room or zone improve the user experience even further by speeding up visual recognition. Offering the best graphics on the planet, Oscar's aesthetics are an elegant extension to any home automation system.
The Oscar 2.0 bundle comes equipped with Guifx's flagship Control System and Rooms and Zones icon sets, which offer the perfect finishing touch for any design project. The recently redesigned sets feature a wide variety of multimedia and system device icons, including common A/V system icons as well as new buttons for lighting, window treatments, irrigation, and more.
For Oscar 2.0, we paid close attention to customer feedback and the upgrade is massive. From completely redesigned graphics to the convenience of iPad compatibility and enhanced interface customization, the updated UI Kit has everything installers need to provide a one-of-a-kind control experience for their customers, said Morgan Strauss, president at Guifx.
The Oscar 2.0 UI Kit bundle will be available for download for Crestron and AMX systems on Guifx's website (www.guifx.com) until Dec. 31, 2010. Customers who have already purchased the Oscar UI Kit may download the updated version for free. Customers who purchase the bundle before Dec. 31 will receive version 2.0 at the lower version 1.0 cost of $1,699.99. As of Jan. 1, Oscar 2.0 will continue to be available at its original price of $2,999.99, so dealers are encouraged to act now and enjoy the holiday savings.
