Gennum Expands Distribution Agreement with Nu Horizons
With a continued focus on global expansion to meet the growing demand for high-performance optical, analog and mixed signal solutions, Gennum Corporation today announced it has broadened its distribution agreement with Nu Horizons Electronics Corp.
The “Gennum offers a broad suite of world-class products for the video and data communications markets and is a perfect complement to our existing product offering,” stated Dave Bowers, president of Nu Horizons distribution division. “As the demand for high-speed data communications solutions continues to grow, we believe that Nu Horizons’ successful demand creation model and world-class logistics will add an additional level of design-in and supply support to Gennum’s and Nu Horizons’ customers around the world.”
Nu Horizons will have rights to sell Gennum’s extensive line of optical, analog and mixed-signal solutions including serializers, deserializers, equalizers, re-clockers, timing generators, HDMI/DVI receiver solutions, cable drivers and video optical modules. The line includes the industry’s only 3 Gb/s optical solution, which was introduced this month at the International Broadcasters Convention in Amsterdam. The new dual transmitter and dual receiver optical modules enable high bandwidth video transport for the delivery of high-definition 1080p50/60 content over a single optical serial link.
“Nu Horizons has a strong global presence, particularly in Europe and Asia which are two key regions for high-definition display and cable technology,” said Klaus Mueller, senior vice president of Global Sales for Gennum. “Their complementary product lines and strong strategic relationships with our mutual customers will ensure greater accessibility to Gennum’s award-winning optical, analog and mixed signal products.”
The agreement is the latest in a series of moves intended to provide greater accessibility to Gennum’s extensive line of industry-leading high-performance optical, analog and mixed-signal products for video transport and data communications. Last month, Gennum announced the establishment of new offices throughout Asia and North America, further underscoring the company’s commitment to serving its video and data communications customers and positioning itself to capture additional opportunities in these high-growth regions.
