Fujitsu receives Automotive Supplier of the Year 2011 award from Continental in the Microcontroller category
The Automotive Group of the international automotive supplier Continental has presented Fujitsu Semiconductor with the Automotive Supplier of the Year 2011 award for outstanding achievements in the Microcontroller category.
As part of the International Supplier Day in Berlin on July 4, featuring exhibits from more than 100 global parts suppliers, Continental presented a total of 14 awards to the most successful companies. Fujitsu Semiconductor was one of three electronics parts suppliers recognized by Continental in the Microcontroller category. One particular aspect highlighted was Fujitsu Semiconductor's excellent crisis management following the natural disaster in Japan last year.
Fujitsu Semiconductor was praised for the quality of its microcontrollers and its highly reliable logistics chain - in light of the circumstances following the tragic earthquake and tsunami catastrophe in March last year.
Although the environmental disaster in Japan presented Fujitsu Semiconductor with a serious challenge, crisis management and the rapid resumption of manufacturing operations avoided production downtime at Continental's factories.
Fujitsu Semiconductor is very pleased to have received this award, which demonstrates that we meet the stringent requirements set by Continental, one of the world's premier automotive companies, says Brendan Mc Kearney. We see this award as an important reference for the market, underlining our position as a reliable supplier of innovative semiconductor solutions for the automotive industry.
