First commercial drone operation in The Gambia
Capturing stunning aerial video and stills for five days, UAViate has pioneered the first ever commercial drone operation in The Gambia. The expert team flew out with just two weeks’ notice to film an array of stunning footage for the brand new hotel working with government organisations and celebrities to ensure the country’s first commercial drone operation was a resounding success.
The operation had the full cooperation of the Gambian Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Defence and the Office of the President, and the owners of the new wellness resort were thrilled with the footage and stills of the hotel, the beach and the beautiful surrounding areas.
Ex-Arsenal, Portsmouth and Nigeria footballer, Kanu, also flew out from London to feature in the video, which will be used to market the luxury resort. The team worked for five days alongside Fiction Foundry, who provided ground shots to ensure that the hotel had plenty of material to use in their marketing strategies for the future.
A spokesman for UAViate commented: “We were asked to fly out to The Gambia at fairly late notice in order to shoot this footage, and it took a lot of logistical preparation and planning, but we managed to ensure it went off without a hitch. The success of this, the very first commercial drone operation in the country, is a testament to our truly international status as an aerial video provider - it shows we are able to provide these services anywhere in the world, to an incredibly high standard. We loved working in The Gambia - many of the locals, including some of the army, who were stationed nearby, had never seen a drone before. It was great showing them what it could do and how the whole process worked, and we managed to capture some truly beautiful aerial footage too.”
The project in The Gambia is just the latest in a long line of exciting ventures for UAViate, who have recently provided their drone consultancy services to a Hollywood blockbuster, starring Gary Oldman, Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Costner.
