Building on the attendance of over 10,000 people at the 2006 worldwide MSP430 Day events and continuing to make embedded design easier than ever, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) has announced that it will give away MSP430 Collector’s Kits to attendees of this year’s 430 Day events, held at over 100 locations worldwide. 430 Day 2007 will take place in Europe, Middle East and North Africa in 60 locations from September 3 – 27. The Collector’s Kit includes a limited edition eZ430-compatible capacitive touch target board, only available at 430 Day 2007, plus an eZ430-F2013 microcontroller (MCU) development tool to program the target board. For more information, dates and locations please see: www.ti.com/430day-e.

During the free half-day seminar live demos and presentations facilitated by distribution partners worldwide at the 430 Day events will teach embedded application designers how the MSP430 MCU platform enables countless system design possibilities with its modern 16-bit RISC architecture, advanced peripheral set and wide portfolio – all while maintaining ultra-low MCU power consumption. The sessions will include an overview, product and roadmap updates, and technical demonstrations. Attendees will also learn how MSP430 development tools – including the $20 eZ430-F2013 tool, the new capacitance touch target board and other resources such as the new $99 MSP430 Experimenter’s Board – provide designers with many versatile solutions helping to simplify their embedded designs.
In a compact Universal Serial Bus (USB) stick form factor, the eZ430-F2013 is the world's smallest, complete MCU development tool.

Alternative target boards for the eZ430 tool include the T2012 board from TI and the MSP-Mojo board from TI third party Quickfilter Technologies as well as the limited edition capacitive touch target board given out at 430 Day 2007. The MSP430 Experimenter’s Board includes two 16-bit MSP430 devices and a TI (Chipcon) radio frequency (RF) module connecter for developing low power wireless networks. For more information on eZ430-F2013 tool and the MSP430 Experimenter’s Board, see www.ti.com/ez430 or www.ti.com/430expboard, respectively.
