Fairchild Semiconductor will address China’s design engineers, technology leaders, journalists and industry analysts at the launch of Global Sources’ IIC-China and Components Zone in Dongguan. Benjamin Tan, vice president, Sales and Marketing, China and South East Asia, will discuss the latest trends in energy efficiency and how semiconductor suppliers can enable increased efficiency in electronic devices.
“Fairchild’s invitation to make a presentation at this event validates the industry leadership position we have established in China,” Tan commented. “Consumers in China, and around the world, are increasingly demanding ‘greener’ electronic devices, and governments are implementing energy-saving standards and energy-rating systems in response.”

Tan will outline how Fairchild, a leading global supplier of high-performance products to drive energy-efficiency in consumer, communications, mobile, computing and industrial applications, provides solutions to address these new challenges.

Global Sources’ IIC-China is the largest series of system design events in the country. IIC-China and Components Zone in Dongguan will be held at the GD Modern International Exhibition Center on September 17. This new event is expected to grow along with Dongguan’s rapid emergence as a leading manufacturing base for wireless communication devices, MP3/MP4 players, GPS, digital frames, mobile phones and computer products.

“IIC-China events enable Fairchild, and other vendors, to meet with China’s design community and demonstrate face-to-face how our innovative solutions and architectures can assist them with power saving,” Tan concluded. “Semiconductor suppliers, such as Fairchild, IC suppliers, OEMs and electronic manufacturers all play integral roles in making the electronic devices people use everyday ‘greener’ and more energy-efficient.”

Fairchild, The Power Franchise®, has been operating in Greater China, the company’s biggest market, for more than 12 years and has become a very well established and respected industry leader in the region.

In support of China’s drive towards becoming a global powerhouse for new product development, the company has established three Global Power ResourceSM Centers to provide customers with direct local access to system design experts that deliver innovative, energy-efficient designs.
