Developer of injection molded structural electronics solutions, TactoTek, has announced the opening of sales and business development operations in Mexico with representatives in Monterrey and San Luis Potosí, Mexico. These are hotbeds of electronics design and manufacturing for global market leaders in automotive, home appliances, medical equipment and other markets.

TactoTek is partnering with the Prolamsa Group to develop the Mexico IMSE market. Jussi Harvela, TactoTek CEO, noted: “We are very fortunate to have developed a close relationship with Grupo Prolamsa and to have partners with such deep local knowledge and relationships operating as TactoTek Business Development in the region.”

For many global OEMs, operations in Mexico are evolving from being, primarily, a manufacturing destination, to including product design and engineering. TactoTek’s expansion into Mexico is an important part of the company’s growth strategy.

Claudia Garza, TactoTek Business Development, Mexico, added: “Many automotive, home appliance, and medical equipment OEMs and their suppliers have committed to Mexico for mass production. A more recent trend is the growing role of these operations in innovative product design and engineering, skills for which Mexico is being recognised globally, and that matches well with opportunities supported by TactoTek IMSE technology.”

Sami Hyyryläinen, SVP Field Operations for TactoTek, finished: “Increasingly design and engineering projects are truly global in participation, we need to find and support those projects locally and having an experienced team in Mexico puts us on that path.”
